Embedded Systems Design Co-op

Department: Product Development Services 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 

Reports to: Engineering Operations Manager 

Pay Range: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour 

The Role: 

D3 Embedded is seeking an Embedded Systems Design Co-op who has a passion for full product development. The student will create a product from concept and architecture through hardware design, software development, and then bring up the product for eventual production testing. The Embedded Systems Design Co-op will need a multi-faceted skillset to troubleshoot issues across hardware and software in your system design. 

The Responsibilities: 

• Requirements and architecture generation 
• Board schematic design and PCB layout 
• Embedded firmware/software development for board design 
• Board bring-up and testing 
• Documenting design from architecture through production 
• Requirements doc 
• Architecture diagram 
• Detailed design doc 
• Board bring-up doc 

Additional Responsibilities: 

• Other duties as assigned 

The Right Person Will: 

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering (CE/CET) program 
• Proficiency using MS Office products 
• Experience using Block diagram tools (Visio, Draw.IO, Lucid Chart) 
• Experience using e-CAD tool exposure (OrCAD, Altium) 
• Experience using C, C++, Python 
• Exposure to Linux (uBuntu, Yachto, other distributions) and/or RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or other distribution) 
• Exposure to embedded platforms (nVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, other hardware platforms)
